Dragonporn and Teterophilia as Metaphors?
If you were to ask someone the definition of Teterophilia, they’d probably have to look it up. Once a definition is found, you’ll both wonder why this word exists. Those listening to “Fuck/Screw Humans” and the disclaimer of the podcast having LGBT romance/erotica and Teterophilia in it as content advisory warning comes across as strange. Maybe it’s a metaphor for something else?
If the monster and human bigoted hatred of one another is a metaphor for something, in the same way, the X-Men comics were for the civil rights movement in the 1960s, the story has a slightly different way of tackling these social justice issues. Not sure if this is promoting Beastiality (act of) or zoophilia (attraction to) over LGBT relationships, but the result is a combination of mild discomfort and uneasy amusement.
A Forbidden (Erotica?) Love
The first episode gives a false sense of security in how evocative or descriptive the erotica writing will be. The deep, unnatural voice of Bask the dragon will come across as unnerving or slightly comical. The explicit words referring to Bask’s genitalia while he narrates came across as amusing. By the end of the first episode, the listener gets a sense of girth but not depth in the world of humans vs monsters. A lot of plays on basic fantasy tropes a la Saffron and Perri.
This erotica certainly reaches high and has potential, but with only four episodes at the time of this writing, it’s hard to say if they’ll stick the landing. Like a gymnastics move in the Olympics, it’s in the middle of the performance and the landing looks like it might wobble a bit at the end. The build-up to that moment however and the details in the soundscape are enough to boost its overall rating.
