“The sun will come out tomorrow” is a famous line from 1977’s Broadway musical Annie, but also scientifically inaccurate as the sun doesn’t move. What is correct is that Gen Z Media and Wondery have teamed up to bring you an episode of Tomorrow: The Continuing Adventures of Annie Warbucks throughout 2022.
Released on December 13, 2021 as an Amazon Music and Wondery exclusive podcast (Wondery also owned by Amazon) until January 17, 2022, this reimagined sequel to little Orphan Annie stars Tony Award winner Laura Benanti and Alan Ruck (Cameron Frye) of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. It is produced by Gen Z Media, and Broadway Annie‘s composer and lyricist, Charles Strouse, is thrilled to introduce a new generation to the stories of Annie. Charle’s son, Ben Strouse—the CEO of Gen Z media—says “he can’t wait to talk about what’s coming next.”
David Kreizman, Ben Strouse and Chris Tarry are the producers of this audio drama. The story was developed by Kreizman and Ben Strouse, with Chris Tarry, Shawn Pierce and David Molloy as part of musical arrangement team.
Check out the podcast’s website and stay tuned for new episodes dropping every Monday throughout 2022.
