Serial Box Publishing, who recently attained the rights to “Orphan Black” to continue the story in audio, has partnered with Berlanti Productions to provide continuing adventures of CW’s Arrowverse shows: Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl.
The flagship show, “Arrow” ends with its eighth and final season this October culminating in 2019-20 with the crossover event titled “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” A throwback to the graphic novel (1985-86) of the same name where DC’s multiverse combined into one.
The “Arrowverse” on Serial Box
New reports are coming in daily as to whether or not one or all of these shows will fit into the existing canon. According to newsarama.com, the new audiobooks will exist outside the main continuity of the TV shows. Historically, tie-in media like the mini-series of stories between “Arrow” seasons two and three, and before “The Flash” season one is technically canon, but unnecessary for understanding the shows.
The Flash: Rogues will kick off the series on Serial Box on November 20th. The writers are Gwenda Bond (Co-Writer of another Serial Box Production, “ReMade“) and Christopher Rowe. Fans can pre-order the eight-episode first season on the Serial Box website for a discounted price of $9.99. The show’s description makes it sound like a story that will focus on the side characters as they try to bring Barry Allen/The Flash from the path of villainy after Lex Luthor messes with the timeline and turns the scarlet speedster evil.
Serial Box has made a name for itself these past few years with both original content and stories written by authors such as Mur Lafferty and Max Gladstone. All of the contributing authors can be found by clicking the “Press Downloads” on the Press page of their website. The review for the 12-episode first season of “The Witch Who Came in From the Cold” is currently set to release this October on Audio Drama Reviews.
